Trophy & Past Winners
From Wednesday 7 November, we will play a composite course comprising the first 4 holes of the wee course followed by big course holes 7,8,9,12,13,15,16 then holes 5,6,7,8,9 on the wee course. A revised stroke index is shown on the score card below and these score cards will be available each Wednesday.
From Wednesday 6 March 2019, if the 18 hole course is back to normal, we will play the usual 18 hole course missing out the 10th and 11th holes, using the normal big course card and stroke index.
Playing order is arranged on a first come first served basis whereby players can turn up from 8am to 9am each Wednesday morning with 4 balls and 3 balls being arranged as and when they arrive. Unless the course is closed, all submitted completed scores will count towards your total.
RULES –
Play off yellow tees
Normal club winter rules apply and mats may be used if your ball lies on the fairway.
Gimme putts are allowed, as long as they are shorter than the metal part of a normal length putter. Putts should be measured against a putter if there is any doubt.
Please remember that if you choose to lift your ball and place it in the semi rough to play it, you must take it to the nearest side from where it lies.
Weekly sweepstake will only be paid out if 6 or more players play. Winners must complete the full 16 holes.
The cost to enter the league is £10 per head payable to Charlie Paul on or before 31 October which will used for a weekly prize fund which will pay out £3 for Best Stableford score, £2 second best stableford score, £1 for third best stableford score. The weekly sweep winnings, will be paid out at a prizegiving lunch sometime in March and any remaining funds will be used toward the lunch.
The ongoing Prize list and results will be collated and published each week on the results section of the club website.
Players have around 21 weeks from Wednesday 31 October 2018 to Wednesday 27 March 2019 to accumulate their best 6 stableford scores.
We hope you enjoy the new winter league format and look forward to some great scores and a mild winter.
Charlie Paul
16 Hole (Composite Course) Handicapping
Due to the fact that we play only 16 holes, players will play off 8/9ths of their full handicap on the composite course and will be subject to winter league handicap reductions if they achieve a score better than their handicap as follows:-
9 Hole (Wee Course)
In the event that the composite course is closed or covered in snow, we will play 16 holes twice around the 9 hole course off full handicap minus 2.
The 16 holes will comprise holes 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8 then cut over onto 2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9. We may need to merge in turn with other players but with courtesy and common sense this shouldn’t be a big problem. The card below has an adjusted stroke index and will be printed off each week. Spares will be available in pro shop.

In the event that the composite course is closed, we will play twice around the 9 hole course.
Players should not walk all the way down to the 1st tee for the second round of the 9 hole course. Once you play the 9th hole you simply walk back to the flat area half-way up the hill and tee off from there. Consequently no player receives a shot at this 10th hole.
Players play off full handicap minus 2 when playing twice around the 9 hole course and will be subject to winter league handicap reductions if they achieve a score better than their handicap as follows:-.
